Long after the discontinuation of the original flagship
product Xenadrine RFA-1, Cytodyne Technologies finally
came out with a new energy boosting and fat burning
product called Xenadrine NRG 8 Hour Power. With the
FDA ban of ephedra and all ephedrine based fat burners,
some of the most effective diet pills has been pulled
off the market. With the weight loss industry being
a multi-billion dollar industry, you can imagine the
loss in sales for manufacturers. It would be my guess
that Xenadrine NRG 8 Hour was formulated to make up
for some of that lost sales. ;-)
Cytodyne calls Xenadrine
NRG as the "next generation in energy and
weight loss products", and "new 8-hour Power
Xenadrine-NRG is a revolutionary new extended-release
energy supplement... and then keep on working to maintain
those levels for up to 8 full hours." It claims
to take effect within just 30minutes, and will last
for up to 8 hours - hence the name "Xenadrine
NRG 8 Hour Power".
So does Xenadrine NRG really work and what does actual
users say about it? Let's find out. First, we take
a look at the ingredients.
Xenadrine NRG 8 Hour Ingredients
At first glance, Xenadrine NRG 8 Hour Power looks
like a pretty standard lineup of ingredients - you
got your caffeine, green tea, tyrosine, etc...
What cytodyne dubs as a "perfect ratio of herbs,
amino acids, and vitamins." At a closer look,
I see an unfamiliar ingredient called Norambrolide.
Curious what it is and what it does, I did some digging.
Norambrolide - this is also called
"fermented Salvia sclarea leaf extract".
Ahh... now it doesn't look so unfamiliar after all!
Salvia Sclarea, is a potent adenylate cyclase activator
- meaning that it increases the enzyme action of forming
cylic AMP (cAMP - cyclic adenosine monophosphate)
from ATP. What's the deal with cAMP? Increased cAMP
increases lipolysis - or the breakdown of fat.
How does this new ingredient Norambrolide compared
with ephedra? First, they have completely different
mechanism of action, and second, I tend to think it'll
be a pretty big miracle if the weight loss industry
can really come up with something new & legal,
that's as effective as ephedra. Honestly, I couldn't
find any research done on this ingredient called Norambrolide
and its effectiveness on weight loss... Regardless,
Salvia Sclarea shows some promise, but we'll have
to take a wait and see attitude. ;-)
Other Xenadrine NRG ingredients:
1) l-tyrosine: tyrosine is an amino
acid that is a precursor for a number of neurotransmitters
related to our feeling and mood. A deficiency in this
results in depression and reduced ability to cope
with stress, so with Xenadrine NRG you may get a lift
in your mood.
2) Green tea extract helps to increase energy expenditure, thus helping with weight loss.
3) Yerba Mate: This herb contain
a gentle form of caffeine, it also supplies vitamins,
minerals, and 15 amino acids. Research suggests that
yerba mate may aid with sleep irregularities and joint
pains. Many people drink yerba mate to boost energy
without the side effects of coffee. Besides this,
there are other caffeine ingredients like guarana,
and green coffee bean extract.
Ingredient Details:
*Proprietary Thermoxanthin Blend: l-tyrosine, yerba
mate leaf (standardized for caffeine and theophyllin)
, guarana seed (standardized for caffeine and theophyllin),
green tea leaf, green coffee bean extract, infused
with natural caffeine.
Does Xenadrine NRG 8 Hour Work
- Feedback?
I constantly receive feedback on all types of supplements
and fat burners from users like yourself, and I post
(and update) user feedbacks constantly at our user
feedback site here. So far, I have received some
feedback on Xenadrine NRG, and as expected, its a
mixed bag of 'reviews' - some seem to really, really
like Xenadrine NRG for its weight loss and energy
boosting effects, and others are not so positive on
its effectiveness. But one common thing I find in
most of these feedback is that most users noticed
a boost in energy after about 20 to 30 minutes of
taking the diet pills.
(PS. if you've used this, please send in your feedback
as well. Thanks!)
Xenadrine NRG Side Effects
As with all fat burners, different users will experience
different side effects - some worse than others, and
some will experience no side effects. The only way
to truly find out is by trying it out. Some side effects
include:
Massive energy boost within 30
minutes of taking the pills
Anxiety, shaking, and light headedness
Cramps, numbness, light headaches,
feeling faint
Increased heart rate and a rapid
heart beat
Increased sweating and the need
for more water
Nausea and upset stomachs
Suppressed appetite
Can be addicting
A quick note about the energy boost and addictiveness.
The energy boost is like a double edged sword - many
users seem to find that Xenadrine NRG 8 Hour can be
addicting, mainly because of the energy boost, but
its because of this energy boost, that they also have
a tough time going off these diet pills.
Just keep in mind that during the first week, take
just half the recommended dose, and go from there.
