If there was an award for the most hyped diet pill, then Miracleburn would definitely be in the running along with several other diet pills. For a company that's so secretive about the ingredients in its fat burner, they certainly go the extra mile in hyping and promoting their product. Various claims of miracle burn such as it comprising of "some of the most exciting and talked about natural ingredients associated with helping people lose weight" - while the miracleburn site lists all the ingredients, the amount of the active ingredient remains a mystery.
Other claims include: "These various ingredients work together in different ways to help you achieve your goals by helping to control your appetite, increasing your metabolic rate, and burning fat…" But it ends the sentence with: "in conjunction with exercise and a sensible diet of course." Gee, that's a no brainer... It should be pretty obvious that a sensible diet combined with regular exercise will do wonders for weight loss and overall health!
What really bugged me is their repeated mentioning of the "most exciting and talked about natural weight loss ingredients" that's contained in their diet pill - almost seems like they included these "most exciting and talked about ingredients" simply because these ingredients are 1) exciting, and 2) are the most talked about. How'd you like to try out Miracleburn because its ingredients are exciting and are the most talked about? It would certainly be foolish to make a buying decision based on "exciting" and "most talked about" ingredients. So, marketing hype aside, let's get in depth on some of these ingredients, and find out what they are, if they are truly proven, and how much of Miracleburn is hype like their marketing claims.

They key active ingredients in Miracle Burn are Hoodia, Glucomannan, Advantra-Z (bitter orange / synephrine), yerba mate, and white willow bark.
Hoodia is a genus of 13 Apocynaceae family of flowering plants. Hoodia Gordonii is a traditional African "cactiform" - resembling the cactus family, although unrelated - a succulent plant that can reach up to 1m high and often have large flowers with a strong smell. African tribesmen consume the succulent stems of Hoodia Gordonii to reduce hunger during long hunting trips. Hoodia plants are also used by the indigenous population of South Africa to treat indigestion, and small infections.
In 1977, the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) isolated the appetite suppressing compound from Hoodia Gordinii, which is now known as P57, but don't get this confused with current Hoodia Gordonii diet pill products which name their products in a similar fashion, such as Hoodia X57 and Hoodia H57. P57 is the active ingredient that suppresses appetite, while Hoodia X57 and P57 are just products with similar names.
Hoodia P57 was patented in 1996, and the CSIR granted Phytopharm, a UK based pharmaceutical company, the license to P57. Phytopharm then collaborated with Pfizer to isolate the active ingredients and conduct research into synthesizing them for use as an appetite suppressant. I won't go in more detail about Hoodia Gordonii here, as we have several in depth articles written on Hoodia:
Glucomannan is a food additive, and commonly used as a thickener. It has been used in asia in traditional foods such as tofu, noodles, and heat stable gelled foods. There are also a variety of dietary supplements that contain Glucomannan sold to combat obesity. Lipozene is one such diet pill making Glucomannan its only ingredient. There are also other diet pills that use Glucomannan as an ingredient in its blend of thermogenic ingredients such as Trimspa.
Glucomannan does not dissolve in water. Instead, it forms a gel when mixed with a liquid. It does not get digested by the body, so it is passed through the digestive system. There are various health benefits of Glucomannan that have been studied. It has been found to be helpful in treating obesity, helps lower cholesterol, helps treat constipation, and may also be beneficial in treating diabetes.
Glucomannan offers a host of health benefits including:
treatment of constipation
help reduce cholesterol levels
studies have found it to be beneficial for individuals with type 2 diabetes [1]
studies have also found glucomannan is an effective weight loss supplement for obese patients [2]
I won't go in more details about Glucomannan anymore here. We also have an in depth article reviewing these health and weight loss benefits of glucomannan with supporting scientific studies. You can read our review of glucomannan here.
Yerba Mate is another standard ingredient that you will find in most fat burners and diet pills alike.
This natural herb work to enhance
thermogenesis and increases oxidation of body fat.
Other than
its thermogenic properties, Yerba Mate is high in
antioxidants, helps increase energy, boosting immune
system, and a host of other natural health benefits. Yerba Mate is a herb that contain
a gentle form of caffeine, it also supplies vitamins,
minerals, and 15 amino acids. Research suggests
that yerba mate may aid with sleep irregularities
and joint pains. Many people drink yerba mate to
boost energy without the side effects of coffee.
Advantra-Z is a patented form of bitter orange (citrus aurantium). Synephrine is derived from the fruit of bitter orange, which has been used in Chinese
medicine to treat chest congestion. It is a popular ingredient in many weight loss products and diet pills. Currently, there are conflicting evidence and views on the effectiveness of bitter orange - so what you read about its proven ability to help weight loss, take it with a grain of salt. We will provide the findings of 2 studies which reported conflicting views.
In one study performed at Georgetown University, the results suggested that there is little evidence that products containing citrus aurantium are an effective aid to weight loss. Synephrine has lipolytic effects in human fat cells only at high doses, and octopamine does not have lipolytic effects in human adipocytes. [3] Note the key point here is that "at high doses" - it is questionable whether diet pills such as Miracleburn contains enough synephrine to produce much of an effect.
In another citrus aurantium study conducted at the John Hopkins University School of Medicine, the study performed on bitter orange concludes that citrus aurantium shows promising results in weight loss; however, they added that further rigorous studies are needed to verify the safety and efficacy of bitter orange and synephrine alkaloids for promoting weight loss. [4]
As you can see from these two studies, first study finds no conclusive evidence to support the claim that citrus aurantium is an effective weight loss aid, while the second study concludes that there are some promising evidence, but more clinical trials are needed to examine the safety and efficacy of bitter orange.
As with all diet pills, there are potential side effects of Miracleburn. These side effects will vary from person to person, and what effects one individual experiences may not be indicative of what another individual might experience. Below is a list of some of the potential miracle burn side effects:
feel full
more overall energy
dizziness or light headed
anxiety
diarrhea
Miracleburn offers a so called "free trial", which costs you $7.95 for shipping for a 7 day supply. However, if you carefully read the notes, you'll see that by purchasing the "free trial" you are also signing up for their auto-ship program, which bills you for $39.95 + $7.95 on a monthly basis, and I'm guessing it'll be a royal P.I.T.A if and when you try to cancel the auto-ship program, as is the case with so many these types of auto-ship programs. If you plan on trying miracle burn, the smarter choice would be simply to purchase miracleburn for $44.95, which is a one month supply.
