Glucomannan is a dietary fiber that
comes from konjac root, an Asian plant. Glucomannan
works by giving the user a feeling of fullness, thus
decreasing the desire to eat. It can absorb up to
200 times its weight in water, and it can also bind
with various substances in the digestive tract to
slow down digestion.
Many studies have found glucomannan to help with
weight loss. Here are a few: Glucomannan
and sensation of satiation, Glucomannan
for treating obese children, and glucomannan
in treatment of severe obesity. These are just
a few of the many studies done on Glucomannan for
the treatment of obesity.
So far so good, looks like Trimspa ephedra free has
a good line up of ingredients.
Citrus Naringinine is a citrus flavinoid
found mainly in grapefuit juice. It works by reducing
appetite, and its also a fiber and antioxidant that
helps fight free radicals preventing cell damage.
Naringinine has also been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol
(the bad kind)
Glucosamine HCI - studies have found
Glucosamine to induce insulin resistance in subjects.
"Glucosamine delays the effect of insulin in
the body, sending glucose directly to your hard-working
muscles for energy, instead of being transferred and
deposited as ugly fat! " - quote taken from Trimspa
website.
Now, maybe I'm missing something, but when I looked
this up, this doesn't seem to be all the positive.
Insulin stimulates glucose uptake in to tissues, and
with insulin resistance, your tissues have a diminished
ability to respond to insulin. This is characteristic
of conditions such as obesity, hypertension, and type
2 diabetes. The amount in Trimspa ephedra free is
minimal and is unlikely to cause any of those conditions.
So I really don't see why this is in the mix.
On the plus side, glucosamine is very good for your
joints. Read about Glucosamine
and joints here.
Cocoa Extract - is the diuretic
in Trimspa ephedra free that helps get rid of the
extra water. It is derived from the Cacao tree, and
it has been long used in South America for its mild
stimulating effects. The cocoa extract is standardized
for theobromine, which is a main compound in chocolate
that can boost the mood and energy.
Green tea extract: what can you say about green tea? Pretty much everything
good, and nothing bad. Take a look:
- Green
tea is a powerful antioxidant. (Antioxidants control
all the free radicals in your body, which can be
harmful.)
- It helps
block the cancer-promoting actions of carcinogens,
ultraviolet light from the skin, stomach, small
intestine, liver or lung.
- The polyphenols
in green tea extract shows promising results supporting
weight loss through increasing energy expenditure.
Hoodia Gordonii Cactus - is quite
a new ingredient in Trimspa, but it has been used
in south Africa as a natural appetite suppressant.
This was originally patented by the South African
Council, and now, Pfizer is developing a diet pill
based on this plant called P57, which is supposed
to suppress appetite.
Trimspa Ephedra Free Conclusions

Vanadium, Glucomannan, Citrus Naringinine, and hoodia
Gordonii Cactus. It also has some mild thermogenics
