Luna Nutrition Bar

Wow, if you want a great tasting nutrition bar for snacking on, this is it! I bought a box of these to try out, and they were gone in no time. ;-) The Luna Bar is the "cousin" of the Clif Bar, which you can read about here. These nutrition bars are made more for energy and nutrition than protein content, so you're not going to find high amounts of protein in them. However, you do get a wide variety of nutrients along with the Luna Bars. See the ingredient information below.

Ingredient Details:
LunaPro™ (soy protein isolate, rolled oats, soy flour, rice flour, roasted soybeans, crisp rice (isolated soy protein, rice flour, malt, salt], flaxseeds), brown rice syrup, natural flavors, sea salt, decaffeinated green tea extract. Chai Coating: evaporated cane juice, fractionated palm kernel oil, soy milk (soybeans, water), soy lecithin, Chai Blend (ground ginger, green tea leaves, cloves, anise, cinnamon, cardamom), natural flavors.

As you can see, each Luna Bar comes with only 10g of protein, and about 30g of carbohydrates. Also, Luna nutrition bars come with a host of nutrients including vitamins such as vitamin B6, B12, folic acid, and various minerals such as calcium, iron, and zinc.

Luna Protein Bar Taste Test

As already mentioned above, Luna bars are fantastic tasting! So far, I have tried 2 flavors: Chocolate Pecan Pie and Lemon Zest.

Chocolate Pecan Pie

This is a nice tasting bar. It's a little on the chewy side, and has a very crispy texture with the rice crispies. Here's how I rated it:

• Chewieness - 9 (I don't think chewieness is a word ^__^)
• Sweetness  - 8
• Toughness - 9
• Overall - 8.5

Lemon Zest Luna Bar

This is one awesome tasting nutrition bar. Even better than chocolate pecan pie - it was for me. It has fantastic flavor and taste! The lemon flavor is light but very addictive. It's not overly sweet, and has just the right amount of sweetness, with a light lemon taste. This flavor also has a crunchy texture with the rice crispies. The white sweet icing coating is very tasty - has all the lemon flavor in it.
