MuscleTech Meso Tech Review

MesoTech Meal Replacement Shake

Meso Tech is a meal replacement I recently decided to give a try, and I picked up a box of 14 packs for $36 bucks. Muscletech also makes meso tech protein bar. I'm a big fan of EAS's myoplex line of meal replacements, but I was quite happy with Meso Tech - with its taste, mixability (is this even a word?), and price.

MuscleTech Meso Tech Taste Review

Looking for a good tasting meal replacement? Meso Tech is a very nice tasting, not too sweet meal replacement. I'm not into sweet stuff, so typically I like lighter tasting sweets. The recommended amount of liquid to use for mixing is 375mls, which is about 1.5cups I believe, but when I mix my shakes, I usually use a little over 2 cups of milk.

I picked up a box of vanilla flavored Meso Tech, and was quite happy with its taste. I haven't tried the chocolate or the strawberry flavors yet, but I'm sure they'll taste just as good. On a taste scale of 10, I'd give MesoTech at least a 9.

I do, however, have one bone to pick with Meso Tech's taste (or texture) - when mixed with water, the mesotech shake tasted slimy... yeah... slimy... I don't know if its just me, but after my first try mixing it with just water, I'll never do it again. I use 1% milk to mix it, and it doesn't taste slimy at all. In fact, it tastes great! The instructions on the packet says mix with water or milk, but I highly recommend against using water, unless you like slimy tasting shakes. ;-)

Another big plus of MesoTech is that you don't need a blender, and you won't get any (I mean ZERO) clumps! Which is fantastic for lazy people like myself. So I just use a turbo shaker instead of a blender. Meso Tech is probably one of the most easily mixed meal replacements I've used. Big thumbs up to MuscleTech. ;-)

Tip: to make all your shake mixings go easier, fill the shaker with some liquid (water or milk) first, add in the powder, then add in the rest of the liquid. This will help minimize clumping for even the worst "clumper proteins".

Nothing outta the extraordinary in the ingredients. Each 89gram packet comes with 52g of whey protein (concentrate), 24g of carbs, 3.5g of fat, and 340 calories. Mixing this with 1.5 cups of 1% milk, you're up to 70g of protein, 7g of fat, 42g of carbs, and almost 500 calories. Not too shabby.

If you're looking for some variety, or just a good overall meal replacement, give MuscleTech MesoTech a try.
