Hydroxycut Reviews - Does Hydroxycut Work?
Our coverage and review of Hydroxycut dates way back to when we first launched bodybuildingforyou.com. Over the years we have updated and published new reviews of new Hydroxycut fat burners. In 2005, we posted the then "new 2005 Hydroxycut package and formula" review; soon after we added the Hydroxycut Hardcore review; and more recently, we had added the Hydroxycut Max for Women Review.

To say that Hydroxycut works is probably a slight understatement. The hundreds and thousands of user reviews and feedbacks we have received speaks volumes for the effectiveness of Hydroxycut. Putting the massive marketing dollars spent by Muscletech aside, the staying power of Hydroxycut as one of the top fat burners all these years should not come as a surprise by any means.
Unfortunately, all that came to an abrupt end on May 1, 2009 when Iovate made their Hydroxycut recall.
Hydroxycut Recall - Why?
The FDA in their Hydroxycut Recall news release warned consumers to stop using Hydroxycut diet supplements for various health cautions including (from the FDA news release):
- Use of Hydroxycut was linked to one death
- Pose risk of liver injury
- 23 reports of serious health problems received by the FDA including jaundice and elevated liver enzymes
- Reported case of seizures
- Cardiovascular disorders
- Nausea, vomiting
The news release stated that "adverse events are rare, but exist"; therefore consumers are recommended to consult their health care professional if they experience any symptoms possibly associated with Hydroxycut diet supplements. You may wish to read the full FDA news release here.
After the Hydroxycut Recall, What's Next?
After the recall, I would not bet on the end of Hydroxycut line of fat burners. After all the years of branding and spending big bucks on marketing, Iovate (Muscletech) will not likely let Hydroxycut sit in the dust pin indefinitely. My guess is that they will probably reformulate Hydroxycut, redo the ingredient makeup, repackage the new diet pills, and then spend their big bucks on another major marketing campaign putting Hydroxycut back on the market. But of course, this is just my guess. We'll wait and see what happens next.
Update: Muscletech has release new formulas of Hydroxycut called the Hydroxycut Hardcore X and Hydroxycut Max Advanced.
